Feng Shui - Bring Health, Wealth and Happiness Into Your Life

Feng Shui Arts: Universal Beauty and Harmony

For many people worldwide, feng shui is a spiritual, even religious, practice. It is something they believe in sincerely, and it is a way of life. However, the popularity of feng shui has spread throughout the world, and for many people it is not so much a spiritual practice as it is a mode of decorating. As long as feng shui arts adhere to the basic principles of feng shui (in order to avoid inadvertently creating a loss of balance and harmony) they are a pleasant and rewarding way of  creating a tranquil, relaxing, pleasant space.

Feng shui is sometimes understood as a decorating art, or a style of decorating. For instance, even if you don’t know much about the traditional precepts of feng shui, you can create an environment that is attractive and relaxing just by following the feng shui rule of reducing clutter. Furthermore, many westerners enjoy the calm colors and natural elements of feng shui, particularly in a space that is meant to be tranquil and relaxing, such as the bedroom. Adding feng shui elements such as candles or wind chimes to your space is a good idea as well, though you might want to read a little bit about the art of feng shui before you do so. There are some cases in which these items should be avoided, and it is better to have them in some places than in others.

Traditional Chinese art is also a popular decorative element of feng shui. Landscape paintings in particular are a good idea, and there are many quality reproductions of traditional Chinese paintings that will look good in a modern interior. Depictions of water, trees, mountains, or fish are particularly auspicious. In fact, a lot of traditional Chinese art is already balanced correctly in terms of the feng shui energies. However, most feng shui manuals specify that your should avoid pictures of scowling or unhappy looking human figures, because they are seen to add discord and unhappiness in one’s own life.
