Feng Shui - Bring Health, Wealth and Happiness Into Your Life

Customizing Your Feng Shui Chart

Your personal feng shui chart can do a lot to customize the practice for you. While the general principles of feng shui are very effective, and can tell you how things should be placed within a room, for example, a more personalized chart can tell you a lot more. Based on our time of birth and gender, we each have specific directions and elements that are auspicious for us, as well as those that are not. If we concentrate on our own auspicious elements, good effects will be maximized. More importantly still, if we know which elements are already strong in our own chart as opposed to which ones are lacking, we can avoid making errors with regard to feng shui.

The whole concept of feng shui depends on balance between the five elements, and according to your personal chart, certain elements are already strong in you. If you are not aware of what these are, you might inadvertently add more of what you do not really need. It is important to be aware that what is good for one person, with regard to feng shui, may or may not be good for someone else. Therefore, awareness of your personal elements can help you avoid the mistake of throwing your elements out of balance by adding more of what you already have plenty of. Instead of benefiting you, a normally auspicious element may create an imbalance and therefore a deficiency.

If you know what is on your personal chart, you can avoid these pitfalls, and provide yourself with the elements that you really need. In addition, once you know your personal KUA number, you will be able to look at other feng shui-related charts (available in most books and manuals) and ascertain your own auspicious directions and decorative elements. This is helpful on a professional and a personal level – for example, if you can sit in one of your ‘lucky’ directions at a business meeting, you will be more likely to be effective and focused.

You can figure out your personal KUA number by yourself, to begin to take advantage of these charts. However, if you have a deep and prevailing interest in feng shui, it may be worth your while having a professional do a more detailed chart for you.
