Feng Shui - Bring Health, Wealth and Happiness Into Your Life |
Feng Shui Cures for Common Architectural ProblemsDespite the name, feng shui cures are not medical, though they can, of course, improve your physical as well as your mental wellbeing through regulating the energy flow in your home in a more favorable way. The term itself refers to the remedying or fixing of inauspicious architectural elements using simple feng shui techniques. If you practice feng shui, and if you have the opportunity to design your own home or to select a house based on how auspicious its architecture is, you should do so, of course. It is better not to have inauspicious architectural elements in the first place than to cure them after the fact. However, many of us do not have a choice. We do not have the luxury of designing a home to suit us, or we may have discovered the practice of feng shui after an inauspicious house has already been selected. To move house because of bad feng shui may be a little drastic for some of us, but luckily, there are cures which are easy to implement. A mirror, strategically hung, can reflect escaping energy back into the room. For example, if your bed or desk faces a toilet or a door, energy escapes, leaving you drained. However, you can prevent this from happening by hanging a mirror on the entrance or bathroom door. Pillars, a popular decorating feature in the neo-Grecian style, are often very inauspicious. This is particularly true if the pillar has square edges, which cut the energy. It has to be disguised in some manner – you can put a screen in from of it, or hang a mirror, or let a vine grow around it. Round pillars are usually not so bad, unless they are right in front of a main door. This is a very inauspicious feature – one feng shui expert recalls that a neighbour died of a heart attack, and his family subsequently lost the family business, after moving into a house with a pillar in front of the main door. She attributes this to the terrible feng shui caused by the pillar. Whether you agree with her or not, there is no harm in hanging a mirror or planting a vine to prevent possible problems!
