Feng Shui - Bring Health, Wealth and Happiness Into Your Life

Creating a Unique Feng Shui Design Plan

Feng shui design is appealing to almost everyone, whether you ‘believe in’ the principles of feng shui or not. Even if your don’t plan to study feng shui in detail, using elements of it in the design of your home (as long as you do so carefully, so as not to create conflicting energies!) can be simple, attractive and rewarding.

The basic principle of design, according to the principles of feng shui, is simplicity – an avoidance of clutter. This is what many westerners think of as a ‘zen’ interior. While Zen is Japanese Buddhism, and feng shui is a traditional Chinese practice, they do indeed share this aspect in common – the interiors are simple and uncluttered, to create a relaxing and tranquil space. Too much clutter blocks the energy, which can have very negative repercussions.

Another element of design according to feng shui is the fact that furniture should be placed in a certain ways. To find out about this, it is best to consult a quality feng shui manual. Different principles apply for the design of offices, bedrooms and offices, but a general rule of thumb is that sharp corners or edges should be avoided, you should not be facing the door as you sleep or work, and your bed should not be under an exposed beam.

Beyond that, feng shui takes on a highly individual quality. Not everyone needs the same balance of elements, symbols and colors – the ones that will work for you are determined by your horoscope and your KUA number, which is determined by your year of birth and your gender. Based on these components, different people have different needs and life paths, so the elements of their interiors will also be different. Advanced feng shui- based design, therefore, takes the individual into account and creates a unique environment for him or her.
