An Avatar-based land, similar to Pandora-The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida, could be coming to the Disneyland Resort, according to Bob Iger, the CEO of Walt Disney Co.
Iger shared the plans during the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference on Tuesday.
“We have one Avatar-based land, Pandora, in Florida; we’re going to put a second one in California. That doesn’t mean we can’t put one somewhere in Asia or somewhere in Europe, for instance.” Iger said during the event, according to Scott Gustin, a member of the digital team at Nexstar Media Group Inc.

Iger initially announced plans to bring an “Avatar experience” to the Disneyland Resort in 2023, but specific details on what that experience will be have been limited.
In May, it was announced that James Cameron, director of the Avatar movies, had been working with Walt Disney Imagineering on the new project.
News of the potential addition to the “Happiest Place on Earth” comes as Anaheim city officials continue to review the company’s Disneyland Forward plan.
The proposal details how officials want to update and renovate the Anaheim theme park. The project will include new attractions, shops and restaurants within its existing 490-acre footprint.
The company has committed to spending at least $1.9 billion over the next decade as part of the Disneyland Forward proposal should it be approved.
The Anaheim City Council is expected to vote on the Disneyland Forward proposal in May.
Disneyland hasn’t announced when the Avatar experience will open at the resort.
